Spruce Street Advisors is a strategic finance and compute procurement advisory practice at 32 Mercer St, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10013. This notice says what we collect when you use this website or contact us, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not skimmed; it is short because we collect little.
When you send a message through the contact page. Your name, email address, company name, an ARR range if you choose to give one, anything you write in the message box, and any file you attach. We use these to reply to you, to prepare for a call if you book one, and — where you've sent a capacity plan or requirement — to come to that call with something useful to say. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you initiated. Submissions are stored by Netlify, which hosts this site, and a copy is emailed to our mailbox; if you attached a file, it is stored by Netlify and the email carries a link to it.
When you email us directly at success@spruce-st.com. Whatever you send, held in our mailbox, used to reply. Same basis.
When you visit the site. Standard visit analytics through Google Analytics — pages viewed, device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring site — held by Google on our behalf and used to understand which pages are read. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address. We do not use advertising pixels, Google Signals, or retargeting, and we keep analytics data for the shortest period Google allows.
When you use the cost-per-successful-task tool. Nothing. The tool runs entirely in your browser. What you enter is not transmitted to us and is not stored anywhere. "Email me these results" opens a draft in your own mail application; we receive nothing unless you choose to send it to us.
If you attach a capacity plan, a requirement, or a provider's quote, or if you forward us results from the tool, that material is yours. We hold it with your enquiry, we use it only to advise you, and we delete it when we delete the enquiry. We never treat it as an observation of the market: nothing a prospect or client sends us enters the pricing data we publish, and a rate you were quoted is never used as evidence of a market rate. That is a rule of our practice, not only a promise in this notice.
If you get in touch and we do not go on to work together, we delete your message, any attachment, and our reply thread twelve months after our last exchange — from Netlify and from our mailbox. If we do work together, what we keep and for how long is set out in the engagement letter. Visit analytics are retained for two months, the shortest period Google Analytics allows.
Netlify hosts this site and stores contact-form submissions and attachments. Google provides the visit analytics. Our email provider holds our mailbox. Each acts on our instructions under its own terms and holds the data in the United States.
We are a US practice and your data is processed in the United States. Where UK or EU data protection law applies to you, we rely on the standard safeguards available for that transfer, and you have the rights listed below. We do not have an establishment in the UK or EU; if you need to contact us about your data, the address at the top of this notice reaches the person responsible.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our holding it. Email success@spruce-st.com and we will answer within one month. If you are in the UK you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU, to your national supervisory authority; in New York, to the Attorney General.
We keep what we hold under access controls appropriate to a small practice, and we hold as little as we can. If personal information we hold is accessed without authorisation, we will tell the people affected and any regulator the law requires us to, within the time the law sets.
The text, charts and tools on this site, and the compiled and dated rate-card data that the cost-per-successful-task tool reads, are Spruce Street Advisors’ work. Individual published prices are facts and belong to no one; the selection, normalisation, dating and arrangement of them here is a compilation we maintain and own. You may use the tool for your own analysis and quote its outputs with attribution. You may not copy the tool, its scripts or its data files to build or operate a competing service, and you may not extract the data files by automated means.
This notice is dated. If it changes, the date changes and the change is stated here. It will not be revised quietly.
